Why do yoga?
Yoga unites the mind and body through the breath.  When the breath is calm the mind and body will follow. Based on the ancient fitness science of hatha yoga, blending balance, strength, flexibility and relaxation in a flowing vinyasa  format. Overcoming the mystery of yoga by delivering a practical, user-friendly style, which is accessible, understandable, and doable by individuals at any level of fitness. This Yoga style reduces the risk of injury and augments recovery for ailments including stress, lower back pain and tension.  Working to untie the stress of our lives so that we can feel better in both our bodies and our minds.  Gentle to more advanced formats are available.
Private instruction can be beneficial if you have specific needs or goals that can not be met in a group environment, or if there is not a program available that meets your desired time frame.  Private yoga sessions can be done as an individual or with a few friends or family members.




What is Pilates?

Pilates works the body from the inside out, focusing on smaller, deeper muscles.  The Pilates principle of core stabilization addresses posture, muscle performance, and motor control. Mention Pilates to many, and the response will likely be that it is predominantly done on a mat, much like yoga. But those familiar with the exercise method know that the majority of Pilates for done on various types of equipment. The most well-known of these is the Reformer.  The Reformer helps to establish torso stability and postural alignment while working the limbs through their full range of motion.  There are adjustable springs, straps, and other props to allow for progression of resistance, which helps to lengthen and strengthen the muscles.  Other equipment includes the Chair, Cadillac, Barrel, and small props.

Pilates is a movement system designed to flow with precision and control.  Working with a trained instructor by your side allows for safe and effective movement.  The Reformer work out will add resistance and help correct muscle imbalances.  Personal training can be customized to suit everyone from rehab patients to elite athletes.  Training on the Reformer is great for stretching, strengthening, and streamlining your muscles with out building bulk or stressing your joints.  Your personal trainer will observe your needs and design a program to fit your goals.
